I just popped a 2Gb stick of ram into my 15" MBP and ran before and after geekbench. The only noticeable performance hit since I'm no longer running in dual-channel mode came in my Write Sequential score which went from 1.40 GB/Sec to 1.25 GB/Sec and Stdlib Allocate went from 7.37 Mallocs/sec to 6.24 Mallocs/sec. Now the Write Sequential I'm going to assume isn't going to be a noticeable hit to me but correct me if I'm wrong on that, is the Stdlib Allocate (what is it even?) going to be noticeable? I do some minor photoshop stuff, will do more once I get a DSLR but right now it's mostly web surfing, the occasional movie in iMovie 06 for my folks and the like. What's your opinion on any potential noticeable performance hit?
