I downloaded a program from Cydia and the phone locked. It is 8 gig First generation with Version 2.0. I connected to ITUNES 8 and selected restore/upgrade. Now the unlocked phone still works as phone but it is stuck on the "Slide for Emergency" screen. Is this fixable?
Thanks

It shows the iTunes logo and a USB cord with an arrow. Obviously you need to plug it into your computer and open iTunes. It hasn't been activated. It won't activate unless it's plugged into iTunes.

If you're using 2.0, you should upgrade to 2.1...

This statement is very confusing, obviously if the phone still worked you wouldn't have a problem.

Try upgrading the phone to 2.1 with iTunes 8 then use QuickPwn to jailbreak and unlock it. Then restore your contacts and what not.

I have managed to upgrade through itunes8 to latest version of IPHONE but the same thing - "slide for emergency screen" but phone (ca make and receive calls) still works but can't access anything beyond keypad. The ITUNES 8 says SIM card not from authorized dealer (of course yes - but unlocked and working).
Thanks for any feedback
