Bought a brand new 5k retina display iMac yesterday and downloaded El Capitan update from the app store, restarted my computer and the progress bar hangs at about 70% completion for hours. I restarted into safe mode only I get the spinning circle after entering my password and never get to the desktop. I can't restore from my time machine backup because I trashed it right before restarting as I was going to be transferring data from my other hard drive to that one. Tried reinstalling OS X using recovery but that installation hangs also. Ran disk utility and hard drive is good. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Haven't had the machine for 24 hours and can't access the desktop

[doublepost=1452551293][/doublepost]Boot into the Recovery Drive by holding down Command R when restarting.
Run Repair Drive using Disk Utility in Recovery.

I booted into recovery and ran disk utility, the disk came back ok. Didn't try running repair on the drive yet.
