UPgraded to 3.1 now my photo folders are gone

I updated the OS to 3.1. When I synced up my iphone the folder with my pictures has gone from my it. I still have "camera roll" but the other folder with my everyday pix has disappeared. I tried to resync the photo folder back from my computer and nothing is happening. Itunes and my IPhone shows "Syncing in progress". However when I look for my photos on the iPhone the folder is not there.

Any help any one can give me will be really appreciated

Little update...my photo folder is not visible. However when I went to change the wallpaper lo and behold all my pics are there. My problem is that I don't have any other way of view them apart from going into settings, which makes no sense.
