I've searched but haven't found anything. I've tried the things that were suggested for earlier OS versions, but no joy. Anyone else seen or heard of this? Am I just stuck with this? I mean, other than the ESC key, it's not that traumatic and the thing is probably going to be replaced when the M3s are out, but still...

Same here. Upgraded the 2016 macbook pro to sonoma, via open core. Touchbar went black. Absolutely nothing on google, absolutely nothing at the opencore website. Going back to Monterey. If they mentioned it anywhere, I wouldnt touch the opencore patcher and would have left it as is. Such a waste of time.

It's a known issue with 2016 & 2017 MBPs & clearly mentioned in the description...

No, they don't mention non-functioning touchbar. They say T1 security chip doesn't work, and nothing else. So I was expecting touchID not working.
