Well it happened. SP4 lost it's life last night and since warranty was out decided to go with the Surface Book i5 128gb. Downgrade on the storage but that's all. Kicking myself for throwing away all the adapters for my micro SD card now lol.! Currently upgrading to 1809. Would have been nice if the Surface Image was 1809 but came with 1709. I can say this is the first time ever that I have bought a laptop and didn't even consider Apple. The Surface Pro 4 was my first Windows laptop since 2000. Impressed so far but will take a little bit of adjusting. I actually used my SP4 as a tablet 90% of the time. Could have been fine with a SP4 again but wanted the slightly larger screen.

Never mind

Is that the 15 inch or 13 inch you got? Good luck with that but I was kind of put off in what they offer (spec wise) and about the price, so I went with Lenovo. Keep in touch :) Can’t wait until the surface book 3 comes out.

13 inch. I don't think they sell an i5 15 inch? Anything other than baseline model was outside off price range. I did use Surface All Access though. Don't know if you know about that. 0.0%APR if paid in 18 months. Can't really beat that on any credit or store credit line. I bought the Surface Book because the one thing still ingrained in my mind from my time with Apple is buy First Party hardware and Software. I know people talk about problems but so far in 8hrs after restoring from image and downloading newest update I haven't had a problem. I thought the Surface Pro keyboard was about perfect until I typed on this keyboard lol. I'll keep in touch. How do you like the Lenovo? if I had to go third party that's what I would go with. I will tell you what, another great thing I have done is switch to android. I was on an iPhone and went Windows Mobile till that failed. Android to my surprise is so much better.

Gotcha, right about the i5. Right again about the 18 months 0% each. Can’t beat that.

No real complaints about the Lenovo. It did cost a fair amount and I got a lot on it that I really really don’t need, but what the heck, I’m going to keep it for a while. Like the 32 GB memory I could’ve got by with 16 GB. One thing I do regret that Lenovo did not offer is a better FaceTime camera like the surface book 2.

I’m getting off the apple ecosystem as well. When my iPhone XS poops out on me I will probably get the Samsung smart phone or perhaps another brand. I did have the galaxy nine for a short time and it was a good phone but I had the ecosystem of Apple and returned the Samsung. Now that I got the Lenovo, I will strongly pass on apple and go for Android.

I still to this day can not fathom why Apple will not just put OS X on a tablet. EVERYONE would buy it, even if it wasn't optimized for touch. Windows 10 isn't either IMO. When I got my first Surface product, a Surface RT mind you, it blew an iPad out of the water. Windows 8 UI was amazing for a tablet . I could torrent and had a usb port lol. Heck it's still running and my mom uses it to this day. That was the reason I switched to the Surface. Got so sick of the limitations of iOS. It cracks me up when people say they can use an iPad as a full computer. You might be able to do most stuff but you cant use it as a full laptop. I hope they Lenovo goes well... 32gbs. Hell im still happy with 8gb. That's the most ive ever owned but I really do basic stuff on it, no gaming whatsoever. Got an xBox One X for that

I honestly feel like Tim Cook was the worst decision other than Ives for CEO.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Ok, I saw the Surface Book 2 for the first time at the weekend, I have to admit I really liked the 13” model, and thought it so cool and nuts that I took the screen off the keyboard..

I had a bit of a play with it, hardly anything installed on it though, it was in a store, and I did find it slow? Is that normal? It seemed to take its time opening things?

It was cool and impressive otherwise, great keyboard on it.
