Hi,

I searched in many forums but could not find the exact problerm. So I know the steps to upgrade a jailbroken iphone and didit before but now I have a jailbroken iphone 5 with version 6.0.1 and want to upgrade it to the latest possible version but jailbroken. Noiw I can see the available version is 6.1.4 but there is no jailbreak for it. So what to do? I heard about upgrading then downgrading back to 6.1.2 then jailbreak it. Please advise. Thanks in advance.,

Simple answer - you cannot.

An iPhone 5 can only be upgraded to current firmware (6.1.4) which cannot be jailbroken on iPhone 5.

Thanks for the swift reply. I believe I mentioned this in my post. The question whether I should do the following? upgrade to 6.1.4 ( only one available now to upgrade ) and then downgrade ( if possible ) to 6.1.2 or 3 then jailbreak it?

Or to wait for iOS 7 with the promised jailbreak.

Thanks again for your patience! with me

Your hope is to upgrade to 7.0 and jailbreak (when available).
Your other method will only bring sorrow and grief as it's not possible.

Hahahha some people hate to hear the answer "no". These posts will NEVER go away! Pretty remarkable how many times this EXACT question gets posted almost daily.

Well the answer now is clear and its NO. No need for your comments. What makes things confusing is the many fake information about this method ( downgrading 6.1.4 which is not easy to validate though my question. Also find me the same question in this forum! I really looked but not the same.

Any way. Thanks for those who answered in a good way.

My decision: I'll wait for iOS 7.

There are tons of threads the same as yours but rephrased, they'll be disguised as "downgrade" or 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak/upgrade. I'm sure if I looked in my post history or past the first page I could get you quite a few.
