Hi there,

I have an unlocked Iphone currently running firmware 1.1.1. I have been out of the firmware game for a few months and have lost track of the best way to upgrade to a new version.

Could somebody out there just give me a few basic steps to help me along in upgrading to 1.1.4? All I really need is to be pointed in the right direction. Should I go to iTunes and re-virginize my iphone and restore it to its factory settings...then upgrade to 1.1.4...and then unlock it again? Is this really necessary or is there some patch or upgrade that I can apply to upgrade to 1.1.4 from 1.1.1? Will I loose my 3rd party applications during this process? I have heard good things about Independence and Ziphone but I have no sweet clue how or when I should use these.

Any input or comments would be *greatly* helpful and appreciated.

Cheers to the Iphone community!

Regards,

Ad-hoc WIFI not working properly

Hi,

No I did not receive a reply, but I was able to successfully restore my iPhone to 1.1.4 and unlock it with iIndependence+.

The only problem I have is trying to stay connected to ad-hoc WIFI networks. It stays connected for a minute and then drops out...any thoughts? Access points work perfectly and I never had this problem on 1.1.1...
