Do you think it makes sense to switch from the iMac M3 to the iMac M4?

I currently have the following configuration:

iMac M3 silver
24 GB RAM
1 TB SSD

Switching from M3 to M4 would cost me around $400-450.

Is there anyone among you who is switching from M3 to M4?

If so, why?

My initial reaction is absolutely not. This makes less sense than upgrading to the iPhone 16 from the iPhone 15.

Thinking about it the question you should ask yourself is what will change if I upgrade. Is there something you do on your iMac that will work faster with the M4? I seriously doubt you’re going to notice any difference with opening webpages or typing up documents in Pages. Perhaps if you edit video there might be some improvement.

That number seems super low. If did my iMac M3 trade in, 24gb RAM, 2TB HD, 4port... is only $715 trade in with Apple. Unless your selling it I suppose.
