I have a 4G iPod Touch running 4.2.1 that is jailbroken. I'd like to upgrade to IOS 5, but have a couple questions.

- I used Tiny Umbrella to edit my host file. I think this is good to go.

##
# Host Database
#
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
fe80::1%lo0 localhost
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
#127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

When I launch iTunes it says I have an update ready. Version 4.3.5.

Can I just upgrade to 4.3.5 from iTunes and then expect iTunes to offer the IOS 5.0 upgrade?

Do I need to "un-jailbreak" my iPod FIRST?

In a nutshell, I'm looking for the safest way to get from jailbroken IOS 4.2.1 to IOS 5.0.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: iTunes now says it has the IOS 5.0 update available. I chose to download but not install. I'm still not sure I can upgrade over my existing firmware.
