i just upgraded (via the downloads available on apple's web site) from OS 9.0.4 to 9.2.2 (i did all three downloads in sequence) and now photoshop won't open. quark is still working, and it appears most of my other software (reader, etc...) is also working. it gives me a type 2 error when i try to open photoshop, which i know relates to memory. but i tried adjusting the memory allocated to photoshop, and i'm not running any other programs simultaneously, so it seems unlikely to be a memory shortage issue.
has anyone else experienced this? anyone know a solution? i've tried reinstalling photoshop and i just get the same error type 2 message when i try to open it.
i did get a couple of errors while installing the OS upgrades-- something about shrink wrap and i think the other one was error type -39. i actually tried to cancel out of the installation process at one point after getting an error message, but it just kept right on trucking in spite of me.
any help greatly appreciated. i'm woefully inadequate when it comes to tech issues.

Oh yeah, and to fix it I'd reccomend downloading the update again via Apple's support site and reinstall it. I suppose upgrading to OS X would fix it as well... ;)

I suggest that you get a legitimate copy of MacOS 9.2 and do a clean install. You may use the shareware utility Clean Install Assistant to preserve your MacOS 9 settings.

Jennifer, What version of Photoshop are you using (not that it really matters), did you try removing the preferences file from the System folder or try to boot with the Shift Key held down (Extensions OFF). I would make sure after deleting anything to do with Photoshop from the Hard Drive make sure everything else is still running OK then with the Extension Manager set to "OS Basic" try re-installing Phoyoshop again. If you still get an error, I suggest you call Adobe or go to thier Knowledge Base web site and look for a similar issue for answers. We are not the only forum in town.

Good Luck:rolleyes:
