I bought my Macbook Pro in December 2008. I'm running Snow Leopard and want to upgrade to Mountain Lion but I'm not sure I have the requirements that are needed. Can you look at these and tell me if I can upgrade?

Thanks! But I've been looking around at the requirements and I'm confused about the 64 bit requirement. Mine says no. So I guess I can't upgrade?

If I'm not mistaken that is because in Snow Leopard you can boot into 32 bit or 64 bit mode, with 32 bit being the default. It looks like you are simply booted into 32 bit mode.

Ok how do I boot in 64 bit?

This is Apple (aka, this is simple). You don't have to worry about it. Just upgrade your Mac via the Mac AppStore and all will be taken care of.

You don't need to do anything.

Thanks! I'll do a backup before I upgrade and let everyone know how it goes.
