I recently installed the free Windows 7 RC under boot camp, which I know will only last me so long before it expires. My question is, If I want to upgrade to a licensed version of Windows 7, do I need to buy the Full Version or the Upgrade? Thanks.

If you don't own an XP or Vista install disc, you need to purchase the full version. There is no upgrade path from Windows 7 RC.

And a clean install is required.

The offer to buy 7 in advance at half price (49 bucks home premium, 99 Professional( starts mid July till August which is going to be the cheapest option.

You have to reinstall Windows but you can backup your current config and files. See my post 3 here
