I was trying out the Yosemite beta but updates via App Store seem to have been crashing/not working great recently... Anyway I think I'm on the latest version that's available, and it now says I'm on OS X 10.10 without any mention of 'beta' etc, and yet new features like handoff and continuity aren't available...
Should I do a 'full install' of Yosemite from the App Store or will it b0rk my machine??
You won't have any problems! I've upgraded my MacBook Pro Retina to the App Store public release version from PB6 and it's been perfect. It actually corrected a few visual bugs as a result!
Can also confirm that if you're running an older PB or DP then you will still be fine as the update from App Store seems to include the entire installation of OS 10.10. I just updated my old 2009 iMac to Yosemite from PB4 and it's also gone smoothly and is running without any problems.
Hope this helps!
Edit: My work 2014 iMac machine had a few crashing issues with beta upgrades, but the final version worked perfectly installing first time. If you want to check on what version you currently have then go to 'About This Mac...' and click on Version 10.10, a bracketed number appears next to it. The final public release is build 14A389.
In my personal experience I've also had a few bugs with continuity, but this seems to be random. For example browsing on my phone and then looking up at my MacBook Pro will show the little icon of what I'm viewing on my iOS Safari, but it does not always appear. I think iOS 8.1 will include some bug fixes in this area.
