I am wondering if it would be possible to upgrade the HD in a 1st Generation iPod to something on par with today's standards.

Specifically, does anybody know if the Toshiba MK2431GAH would work? It is a 240gb ZIF drive that seems to have the same connectivity and form factor as the drive in the iPod

I want to replace this:

With this:

Thanks!

I Also own a first gen iPod, I made me research and found that it is only possible to upgrade to a 40gb HDD (Don't have the number here but I'll look for it if you are interested). So I just went and upgraded it to a 10gb one.

Cheers mate!
