I have seen a number of posts that the beta Meroms have been dropped into Intel Minis and iMacs and seem to work fine. I realize that this is a bit premature as the Merom isn't out yet, but how on earth would I get into my iMac to swap the chip when the time comes?

I have taken apart and reassembled many PCs, and even have built one from parts, but I have no idea how to open my iMac. Is the process explained well anywhere? Are specialized tools readily available?

Also, what do I have to watch out for to avoid making it obvious (if I switch back to the Yonah if I need servicing) to avoid having them void the warranty?

I am sure one Merom is out there will be plenty of FAQs and videos one how to do this.
