Upgrading iPhone firmware

Hi guys,
Ive been trying to upgrade my firmware but i cant find any good compatible ones. I tried downloading 2.2.1 from iclarified but itunes and pwnage too said its not compatible. Do you guys have any good sites where i can get the firmware from? I want the 2.2.1 firmware.

Do you have a 3GS? because you can't put 2.2.1 on it.

I've avoided it until I can confirm that it doesn't disable tethering...

I'm currently using the 2.1 firmware. I managed to download 2 firmwares from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ and tried jailbreaking my iPhone. Then, when it says select firmware(while jailbreaking) it says wrong bundle selected.

I chose the 2.2 iphone firmware and the 3.0 firmware. Nothing seems to be working.

Please help?

Upgrade to the latest firmware in iTunes... (3.01)

If you want to jailbreak/unlock you can do that.

I don't know why you're going to all of these other sites for firmware.

3.0.1 is supposedly just a SMS fix. It shouldn't effect anything else and you can still jailbreak on it.
