Upgrading jailbroken iphone from 3.0.1 to 3.1.2

Unfortunately no, you'll have to either restore a custom packaged firmware with Pwnage Tool, or upgrade normally through iTunes to 3.1.2 and then jailbreak with blackra1n or Pwnage Tool.
Personally, I'll be performing the later soon and would recommend what I normally do: use AptBackup to backup your list of jailbroken apps, which will then redownload them when you jailbreak again after clicking Restore in AptBackup.
I've heard that RockApp also had a BackUp utility that is supposed to work nicely, but I have no first hand experience with it.
I also once SSH'd some files/preferences out and restored them when I updated - but I could not tell you which ones they are (I don't remember).
Either way, I'm still on 3.0, because I don't think it's worth the hassle of updating quite yet. Unless you're having problems, it's probably easier to just stay put.

I'm still on 3.0 as well. I just have soooo many modifications to the UI. Not only do I have a bunch of Jailbroken apps but I've changed so many of the UI sounds and have tweaked so much that its going to take for EVER to put things like this again when it comes time to upgrade my software and I re-Jailbreak. I'm hoping I can at least hold out until 4.0!
Same here! I am torn on what to do. I have so many little tweaks and stuff I know I'll forget what they all are if I rejailbreak from 3.0 to 3.1.2. I really wish there was a way to upgrade the FW w/o losing everything. i don't mind re-dowloading the apps but just all the customization stuff i would lose.
I too am on 3.0.1 but have sooooo many tweaks and apps that i am afraid that i will lose..... i have aptbackup and appbackup ( dont even ask why i have both cuz i dont know) but that doesnt cover tweaks??? and not to mention i am afraid that some of my apps will no longer be compliant with 3.1.2....... any thoughts....
