Hi y'all. I was gifted a Mac Pro by my brother in law recently and am wondering what the best thing to do with it is. It's a Mac Pro Xeon 64-bit workstation. As best as I can tell it is a 2006-2008 "Quad core" 2.66. The model No. is A1186 and EMC No. 2113. It currently does not have any modifications to it. If I do upgrade it I'm not gonna need a crazy amount of power on it. I would probably at most just use it for gaming, running some CAD software, and in the future possibly digital testing of parts. I also would like it to have a current OS on it and just for ease of the programs I want to use would probably try to switch it over to windows. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

First you need to verify the model's name of your Mac Pro
If it is an MP 1,1 or 2,1
Newest OS: Windows 10-64bit
Newest support Mac OS: OS X Lion (10.7.5)
Installable Mac OS: El Capitan (10.11.6)

You can upgrade the processors to 3.0MHz which is a nice kick and windows 10 is possible install if you like to tinker. Other Mac Os's require "tinkering" as well and this is the right place to ask.
