Hello, my airport card is not compatible with Sierra/HS/and Mojave and need to source an upgraded one but seems like there are different options. Wondering what people recommend? The one I have is AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x88). Not looking to break the bank on this old girl so used would be preferable. Thx!

Geesh $89 a bit steep for my needs. Maybe I'll poke around ebay. I can't just find a used macbook pro airport card and rig that up? Probably won't use this machine all that much longer, another year tops. Hardly use wifi on it anyways figured if it was like 20 bucks or somethin fine.

It is the card from the iMac with an adapter board.
The adapter is dirt cheap, you should be able to find a better source for the WiFi card, this was just showing you your best option. This also provides BT4.0.

I wonder if I should just get something like this https://www.amazon.com/Edimax-EW-76...ocphy=9005779&hvtargid=pla-406303301745&psc=1 rather than go through the trouble since I'll probably be bailing on this machine mid-late 2019.
I have zero expectations of anything that isn’t a native WiFi card being able to provide airdrop and handoff features.
None of the 3rd party usb WiFi adapters are able to be seen by the Mac OS prefpane for networking and they all have their own crappy
Interface / application that has to run the whole time in order to function at all.
