I would like to upgrade my MacBook Pro 9.2 (13-inch, Mid-2012) from 500Mb (Crucial) SSD to 1TB.
Which 1TB would you recommend?
I recommend doing a spot of homework to find a 1TB SATA SSD which has a DRAM cache on board; avoid DRAM-less models (which tend to be entry-level within a product line of a major manufacturer/brand). Look over general reviews on those models which do have a DRAM cache, and do so from assorted sources to assemble a picture of patterns in end-user experiences (and to weed out automated and/or paid reviews). If you can, it may also help to look into which vendor supplies the solid-state modules for that model.
If you’re asking for the best way to make a purchasing and usage decision you can live with, these areas above are where you ought to your shopping research.
If you’re asking for a product endorsement, that’s another matter and something I won’t be doing, even as I bought a 1TB SATA SSD, with a DRAM cache, for my late 2011 13-inch MBP (MBP8,1) earlier this year.
Good luck!
