Upgrading my quicksilver G4

Hello,

I have a stock cd-rw in my 733mhz G4 but wish to swap it with a lg supermulti 4x dvd-rw. I read somewere theirs an application i use to remove the old drive and make osx see the new one but i do not remember were i read it... kinda annoying.

I just istalled the drive and it works but its only burning at 1x... under the avanced menu and the script will i need to do some custom settings?

I also noticed that it uses a pretty genaric script, this drive can do DAO, dvdraw, cdraw, and dvd-rw but all those options are greyed out.

hmmm. i've got the same drive i think and as far as i know it works ok just using patchburn (without any modifications). This is with Panther tho - Tiger might be different. Are the limitations appearing universally (ie Toast, Disk Utility, Finder) ?
