When I updated my iPhone to iOS 9 yesterday, I stumbled upon the screen in notes asking if I wanted to "upgrade" notes. At the time I was worried that I would lose my notes so I declined it. After reading more about it it sounds like the notes will not be lost. However, now I am unable to find a place to upgrade the notes after the fact. Does anybody know how to?

Also, is there anything to know about why you wouldn't want to upgrade the notes?

The new notes are stored in iCloud, in a special format. Previous notes were probably .rtf and compatible with all email clients. Pre-iOS9/El Cap devices can't see the notes.

The upgrade button should show up when viewing the folders. (See image)

Upgraded to the new notes will only sync to OS X El Capitan and iOS 9. (El Capitan isn't out until the 30th)

Thanks. However, I don't see the upgrade button. I have multiple notes accounts (2 iCloud accounts and 2 Gmail accounts). Are you only able to use the upgraded notes for the main iCloud account registered to the phone? I notice that the main iCloud account on the phone has the upgraded notes, but none of the others do.

So, I upgraded this evening and when I went to Notes they were upgraded however I've lost some notes.

Is that possible? If so, do they reside somewhere and can be restored?

Here is an update to my situation. I called Apple Support yesterday about it. It turns out (maybe I'm the only one that doesn't know this) that the only Notes account that you can use the new features on is your primary iCloud account. So if you are like me and have multiple Notes accounts, you cannot use the features for the others. I have 2 iCloud accounts and 2 Gmail accounts. This is a bummer for me.

maybe copy and paste to create new notes (hope it isn't that many)....or place them on iCloud Drive and save them to your main iCloud account?

What is the meaning of this alert I receive when I try to send a Safari page to notes (see attached)? I believe my Notes are already "upgraded" -- I can create checklists, etc. -- and I don't see any Upgrade button on the iCloud folder, as described above. Clicking "Go to Notes" takes me there, but nothing happens. Thx

EDIT: I wonder if it is because I have not yet updated my work iPad to iOS 9? It may create a conflict that my iCloud Notes on one device have been "upgraded" to support a Safari export, but not the other device...

EDIT #2: OK, this is interesting -- I installed OS 9 on the iPad, and upgraded Notes there. I am able to export a Web clipping from Safari on the iPad; but when I try on the phone, I get the same error message as in the attached. Anyone else having this problem?
