Upgrading RAM and SSD in MBP 2010?

I have a 13-inch MBP mid 2010 (4 GB RAM) which I am considering replacing with a new one. But I am not sure if I should buy the new MBP as I am looking for a laptop supporting 32 GB RAM so I thought I would upgrade to 8GB RAM and insert an SSD in my MBP for now. Do you think it is worth upgrading my laptop or is it better to spend the money on a new laptop?

You don't say what processor you got, but you would have either a 2.4 or 2.66 Core 2 Duo in that MBP 13 unless you did a build-to-order. You can take that MBP (mid 2010 13-inch) to 16 gb of RAM, according to sites other than Crucial or Apple themselves. I bought the 16 gb upgrade kit (two 8-gb modules) from Other World Computing in July for my MBP and it has worked just fine.

I also bought a Crucial SSD and the MBP is working just fine on El Cap. I can have a lot of open Safari pages at the same time, more than when I had only 8 gb of RAM.

You can find out about previous models of MBPs on everymac.com, whether or not they can be upgraded to 32-mb of RAM. I have not heard of this though. I do not see Other World Computing listing any MBPs being capable of 32 mb of RAM though.
