Haven't been around for awhile, but now I'm back with a question.
I currently have a 1GHz 12" Powerbook G4 (as can be seen in my sig), and I was thinking of possibly upgrading it... I love this little notebook to death and it has served me well for my meager tasks of just checking e-mail, Adium, and browsing the web. However, I'd like a little more power to do a couple extra things like a little lite Photoshop, and maybe a little bit of work in iPhoto with my large collection of photos on my external hard drive.
My question is, should I bother upgrading my RAM. I currently have the default 256MB that has served me rather well for quite some time for my tasks, and my PC (gasp) is my primary photo editing/web design machine, but I'd like to be able to move to my primary machine being a Mac I have an external monitor that I can attach my 12" to so I have more screen real estate. So I was wondering if I upgrade my ram by another 512MB or 1GB (which would be better?) would I see enough performance increase to actually use this machine as my primary? Or should I give up the thought and just save a little more cash for a MB? (I'm a little tight on cash at the moment, but I have a little set aside that I might be able to afford a MB in a couple months).
