Your problem with Best Buy, CompUSA, NewEgg or any other discounter is that they don't sell RAM that is guaranteed compatible with your Mac. Not all RAM works in Macs, even if it says "DDR2-677 SODIMM" or whatevcer the basic spec is. If it doesn't work, you have the time and expense of sending it back, and in some cases, a restocking fee if you want a refund.
There are some good vendors who do guarantee compatibility, offer a lifetime warranty, and a no cost return if it doesn't work. OWC has been mentioned, Crucial and Data Memory Systems are also recommended most often by MR members.
You'll find better deals and quality RAM elsewhere. I would recommend newegg.com there are quite a few 1GB modules on there that are sub $100 that people have had luck with in many mac models.
