iPhone upgrading to 6.0, worth it?

so i have a iphone 3gs 5.1.1, that I jailbroke and unlocked with . I'm not too experienced with this stuff, but I was just checking to see if upgrading to the 6.0 ios will mess up or brick my iphone somehow? The main reason I'm wanting to upgrade is that I have stopped receiving group texts from ppl since the iphone upgrade came out, and I think that's the reason.

Is your iPhone unlocked with a software unlock (Ultrasn0w) or IMEI unlocked? If you depend on the jailbreak for cellular service, I'd wait for an untethered jailbreak.

If you have one of the older bootrom 3GS, i'd say go for it.

You could always unlock via an IMEI unlock and you won'
t have to worry about firmware versions & if/when to upgrade.

i would say its not worth it. if i could roll back to 5.x on my iphone 5 and have it jailbroken, i totally would.

Don't upgrade. There is no compelling reason to go to 6.x on the 3GS.

I still get all my regular group messages (group iMessages and group MMS) on 5.1.1 with no issue. I doubt think your firmware version is the cause of any issue with group messages.

i unlocked with ultrasnow,and I do depend on it for service. how would i know if i have one of the older bootrom 3gs? tks in advance.

Please do not upgrade. It's impossible to downgrade without SHSH blobs (Cydia should already have made backups though) and i guarantee you won't like it.
