Hi

I have an individual Apple Music subscription, which was initially bundled with a mobile contract (with EE in the UK). As such, I'm billed by EE for Music rather than by Apple, so my Music subscription doesn't appear under 'subscriptions' in my Apple ID.

I want to transfer to a family plan. It seems the only way I can do this is to cancel my subscription with EE and resubscribe via Apple.

I'm worried that doing this will cause me to lose my existing library. I've been on Apple Music a few years and have downloaded hundreds of albums, created tons of playlists etc. I really don't want to have to rebuild it from scratch.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Presumably others have had to do this as well? Did you manage to transfer the subscription without losing your library?

Not 100% if this is going to be helpful but I'll try...

I'm almost 100% sure that your library is linked to your Apple ID so in theory it should not be lost if you cancel then resubscribe... Does the EE Apple Music link to your Apple ID or something?

Another thing you could try is getting in touch with an advisor through the Apple Support app and see what they say.

Thanks so much. Your point about the Apple ID gave me the reassurance I needed to try canceling and resubscribing, and it worked!
Thanks again
