I will go to Best Buy. Yes I have looked online.Consider taking a look at the Apple Store before buying. Compare the two screens side by side.
Some mini 6 users have been bothered by the "jelly scroll" aspect so much they returned the iPad. Others, didn't notice or weren't bothered enough to return.I will go to Best Buy. Yes I have looked online.
Does the Mini 5 have this issue? Some mini 6 users have been bothered by the "jelly scroll" aspect so much they returned the iPad. Others, didn't notice or weren't bothered enough to return.
I could be wrong but, I don't believe it does. I had the mini 5 for a while and don't remember any scrolling problems.Does the Mini 5 have this issue?

Hmm.. I will definitely test at Best Buy.For context see https://www.macrumors.com/2021/09/28/apple-jelly-scrolling-normal-behavior/ - it just might be more pronounced on the mini 6 - so either test it or make sure you buy from a place with a good return policy and then test it in your own time at home.
What iPad do you have know?I could be wrong but, I don't believe it does. I had the mini 5 for a while and don't remember any scrolling problems.
I have the 11" iPad Pro (2020). My dad has my old iPad mini 5.What iPad do you have know?
My Mini 5 doesn't exhibit jellyscrolling (portrait or landscape)... but I can see it on the Mini 6.In landscape, yes…which is far less noticeable
I prefer a smaller and more compact model over a pro model.I have the 11" iPad Pro (2020). My dad has my old iPad mini 5.
I don’t use any accessories except a screen protector and case. I just want the larger screen size because I use my Mini 5 for book reading, web surfing, browsing photos, and watching movies on long plane rides to Alaska. Perhaps I will be fine.My Mini 5 doesn't exhibit jellyscrolling (portrait or landscape)... but I can see it on the Mini 6.
@jwolf6589, one thing to consider are the accessories. Do you currently use the Apple Pencil with your Mini 5? If so, then you'll need to get the Apple Pencil 2 to work with the Mini 6. Also, do you use an Apple smart cover? If so, make sure that you'll be satisfied with the smart folio for the Mini 6. Apple doesn't make a smart cover for the Mini 6.
In general, going from the Mini 5 to the 6 is going to cost more... not just for the device itself but the peripherals and accessories are more expensive as well.
Sounds like the Mini 6 will be fine for you (as long as you aren't bothered by the jellyscrolling).I don’t use any accessories except a screen protector and case. I need to test this. I may not buy the Mini 6.Sounds like the Mini 6 will be fine for you (as long as you aren't bothered by the jellyscrolling).
mini 6 is shocking for that, just a blown up iPhone. jelly is real too.web surfing,
I need to test this. I may not buy the Mini 6.
Tested at the store and it was fine.Yeah, you need to see it for yourself as some are really bothered by it and others are not - I'm not at all. I really like the Mini 6 myself.
Make sure to test a good bit at home as well. Best Buy store lighting as well Apple's lighting doesn't really allow you to experience the screen as you normally would. As such, you may not see it right away.Tested at the store and it was fine.
Good point. I won’t sell my mini 5 until the test is complete.Make sure to test a good bit at home as well. Best Buy store lighting as well Apple's lighting doesn't really allow you to experience the screen as you normally would. As such, you may not see it right away.
Reading and watching movies are not affected by the Jelly Scroll. Scrolling photos or web pages might be visible. You should test it out. I mostly don’t notice it and even when I do, it isn’t a big deal to me.I don’t use any accessories except a screen protector and case.
