Upgrading to ML on third party SSDs...any issues?

I remember that it took me quite a bit of planning and reading to install Lion on my iMac with a third-party SSD, considering that it is only big enough for the OS and the Applications folder.

All other personal content, including the Home folders and User Libraries, had to be installed on the internal HD with the help of symlinks and the like in order to avoid permissions problems. Moreover, TM backups do NOT allow you to restore parts of these backups to non-boot volumes.

So my question is: is a ML upgrade going to mess up with this careful setup that I have in place right now?

I have a Crucial M4 128GB SSD and the normal HDD in an optibay on my Macbook Pro.

I installed Lion on the SSD and then created a user folder on the 500GB HDD.

I then went into system preferences > users and groups > option right clicked my username and selected advanced settings. In there I pointed my user folder to the folder I created on the 500GB HDD then rebooted.

After rebooting I removed the user folder from the SSD as my home folder is now on the HDD.

I upgraded to ML today and everything still works. The only thing I had to do was to run the Trim enabler.

You loose some of SSD benefits if you move your home folder to HDD.

The files that are loaded from the HDD make little noticeable difference in use as they are documents etc which are small and load quickly. Likewise with user library's.

I keep all of the applications on the SSD and everything flys.

P.s.: TRIM Enabler may actually lead to decreased performance in modern drives as exhaustively explained elsewhere...besides, my SSD is Sandforce-enabled, which means TRIM is not necessary in my case...

Did the same upgrade and nothing's changed. No issues with symlinks and I do a permissions check after to repair the permissions so everything runs properly.
