I've seen other questions regarding upgrading on 2Gs and such but I am a dum-dum and can't find anything else on this question.

I have a 3G that has been jailbroken on 2.2.1. IF i want to install OS3.0, do I have to do anything on my phone like restoring back to pre-jailbroken days or do I just go ahead and install 3.0 and realize i'll lose whatever cydia stuff i installed.

I'm ok with waiting for the official jailbreak for 3.0, i just want to know if i have to take any precautionary steps before installing a clean 3.0 on my jailbroken 3G.

Thanks in advance,
Tiki

I upgraded to 3.0 from jailbroken 2.2.1 just upgrade like your phone isn't jailbroken. Although I would turn on the battery percentage with BossPrefs that way it will carry over to 3.0.

as long as you don't need to retain an unlock or activation (meaning your phone is a legit phone on a legit carrier) then you should just be able to update like normal. And as you know you'll lose anything that was done via jailbreak.

Cool Beans.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I'm a sucker AT&T customer on an Apple store bought 3G. Not enough of an upgrade to the 3GS from 3G to justify the cost.
