I have a mid-2011 iMac with an SSD running Mavericks and I want to upgrade to Yosemite. Is there a way to keep my Mavericks install and revert back to it if I want?
Thanks.

Do a time machine backup. You may restore the mavericks backup later if need be.

Also consider dual booting.

I dual boot mavericks and yosemite beta on a 2014 rmbp and it works pretty good.

Thanks for the reply Ty. I think I'll try it on a flash drive first.
