Uploading to photo stream from iphoto

Hi all,
I get photo stream and how it uploads pics from my iPhone to the cloud..etc and then I can do whatever I want with them in iPhoto.
My issue is the on the other side.
Iphoto sent 1000 pics to the cloud...mostly old pictures, not even recent ones.
Any idea how to stop this? now my cloud is full to 1000 pics that I don't want and the only way to delete anything is turn off photo stream.
The weirdest part is photo stream isn't even ON in iPhoto...just on my phone.
Any ideas...?

Sounds like you need to disable automatic import/upload in iPhoto.

thanks. but already tried that.
Pics are still getting uploaded (old pics from all diff events!) and my photo stream is now maxed out at 1000.
Suggestions?

I am having this exact same issue right now. Can't figure out a solution. Nothing has worked.
