Although they have managed to get the iPads to the stores here (there are only 2 a Best Buy and an Apple Retailer) they got them there only minutes before the stores are to open and they both open at 10:00 AM.

UPS did not deliver any accessories at all to anyone. Neither store had so much as an iPad case to even show customers.

My case which was to be delivered today, and yes we have Saturday delivery, will not be delivered until "Sometime" next week.

Here in east central Illinois Big Brown must figure they are "Too Big To Fail."

I'm on the list for a 3G model and am figuring on having the thing delivered somewhere else even if I have to drive to get it to get around these incompetents.

I went to the Normal, IL store. The iPads were on time, the cases showed up as I was buying mine.

Sorry for the bad experience, but they didn't get it all wrong in Central IL!

Oh that's such a tragedy. You know that there was a homeless marine who recently got back from Iraq standing outside of the Best Buy asking for change.... Life goes on, you'll get your accessories, and you'll probably be glad you didn't buy the crappy 1st day accessories and waited for better ones to come out.

This is the first time that I am aware that UPS has been single handedly responsible for delivery of a mass market product from factory to store (or to consumer door). What a massive undertaking on the part of UPS and let's not forget that some parts of the country probably have weather issues, and with weather issues come delayed flights.... which is totally outside of UPS' control.

When I am in the store and they announce that they will not have the items that they were promised on a given day and were being shipped by a given shipper and those items do not appear even though the store was told they would be there I can be fairly sure that the shipper screwed up. This was both at the Best Buy store and the Apple retailer, so it had nothing to do with the store. Also both stores had the same problem with the iPads showing up just before they opened although they opened as usual at 10:00 PM which is their usual time.

Even if all goes according to plan now I can't have my case until Tuesday at the soonest, because during the week UPS delivers to the post office and they deliver to the customers. This means that the case will go to the post office in Fisher, IL on Monday and they will deliver it on Tuesday.

This is why when I have control over the shipper I always use FEDEX. The company I work for feels the same way and no longer used UPS as a shipper, only FEDEX.

wait wait wait...why are you so worried about not having the case? if you say you're getting one of the 3G models which aren't even out yet...
what do you want to do with the case in the mean time...? frame it?

and the people at UPS are human...and humans make mistakes...until Google finishes building SkyNet we have to deal with humans running everything
