Righty! It's christmas very soon and I've got myself a lovely monitor coming. but my PowerBook only came with a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter. So... I looked on eBay and found a mini-DVI to DVI adapter for £10. bargain I thought...

so it arrives in 2 days. but nope... its a Mini-DVI to VGA. email the seller. he says he'll send out another.

2 days later. I now have THREE Mini-DVI to VGA adapters. another email afterwards and he swears blind they are full DVI adapters.

My only option now, apart from somehow fusing together 3 AVG cables into one mega-ultra-super-enhanced EXTRA SXJGHA-DVI cable I'm going to have to venture out into the wide open world and find a shop that stock a mini-DVI to DVI adapter and demand my money back of this lemon.

so my question, in bold just because I don't usually use formatting... Is there a shop in or around Manchester, UK, that stock such a cable?
I am willing to pay any price up to £20. I need one before Sunday. I know the Trafford Centre has an Apple Store but getting there will be horrendous. Is there anywhere in the centre of Manchester I could go?

Thanks for reading. I want to be going tomorrow morning too. so if you know, nows the time to shout out! :)

You could try the Apple Centre Manchester.

I don't think there is one? the closest official Apple Centre is in the Trafford Centre. like i said its too far away from me and will be a nightmare getting there to consider it.

Are there no other shops in Manchester that stock Apple products? I know that Selfridges and that sell the machines but I doubt they would stock a specialist item like a DVI adapter.

You sure your computer didn't come with a Mini DVI-DVI adapter? Mine did...it would only make sense, otherwise there wouldn't be any point in having Mini-DVI, we could just have Mini-VGA like the iBooks.

I've got a 12" PB 1.5ghz, latest rev.

I got mine before the SuperDrive was standard, for some silly reason only that setup comes with DVI, and the combo drive with VGA.
