Like a moron, I dove into Final Cut Express without reading the directions.
Made my first FCE project used 2 video tracks, and when I exported, everything playing in the 2nd (higher) video track failed to render. I know it's due to the fact that the higher tracks obscure the lower ones, but is there any way to merge the two without starting over?

Clarification:

Sorry, I posted incorrect info. Upon further analysis, the first part of the exported QT file IS rendering both video tracks (V1 and V2). This portion rendered exactly as I wanted it to-exactly how it looked while I was editing.

Thi issue is that it simply stops rendering midway and remains black.

Do you have some kind of out point set in your sequence? If that is the case, you can control click on that arrow and 'clear out.'
