iPod [Urgent] Headphone been in liquid not working to 100% now...

Help

I just got out of the shower to see that a headphone has been in liquid in a bowl and it is not working 100% there is light sound but IDK how to get it back to normal.

These are not my headphones sorted needs to be sorted before I give them back, idk how long they ahve been in though but can't of been longer tan 1 hour.

Please please please help as they are not mine (mum's) and she will go mental if I have broken them...

put them in a bowl of rice for a day (if you have the time). When a set of my headphones got wet they stopped working all together but all was well after I let them dry for a bit.

Apart from the fact I have no money I was able to sort it

Just tapping it into my hand for a while got the liquid out and it works like normal
