Hiya,
So the night before thanksgiving I decided to pwn my iPhone with 2.2
I already did this with 2.1 and my wifes iPod touch.
So anyhow this is what I did:
1. Download quickpwn 2.2
2. Backup iPhone in iTunes
3. Do a complete restore of my phone from 2.1 to 2.2
But I Did NOT upgrade to the new iTunes... I just forgot.
MAYBE THIS IS WHERE I SCREWED UP
When prompted I restored my bacul in iTunes. This took a loooong time.
When done I had some evidence of my jb such as a numerical battery indicator, strange yes?
4. Run quickpwn which I've done before, but this time it went a little faster on the computer to say done... The phone took as long but the actual pc app took a little less time to get to the "finished" screen..
Oh also the quickpwn app indicated my restored iPhone had been pwned already I think because I restored my backup
Restarted and my phone was dead, just the apple loading screen...
And then I could not enter dfu mode and have iTunes recognize the phone!
I went and upgraded iTunes and the phone started to at lease be recognized by windows but still not iTunes. Adobe photo loader sees it and tries to get photos from it...
Windows did see and install a dfu driver but I still could not get itunes to deal with it.
So I took the phone to my iMac running native windows xp and had no problem installing iTunes and restoring the phone!
Took phone back to myain machine and... Nothing.
I backed up where my iPhone backup should be and put those files on mmy desktop. I then uninstalled itunes and reinstalled but nothing.
I think I must have damaged iPhone drivers somewhere. I really need my backup of my phone book etc
So what the hell... I can't figure this one out at all.
