URGENT Help Needed Restoring iPhone 3G

I went to Settings, General, etc to retore my iphone to factory settings but the battery died whilst doing it and now when I turn the iphone on, I get the connect to iTunes screen. However, when I connect the iphone to the computer (windows xp), it comes up with the new hardware found box and searches for 'USB Device'. Even if I let it search the internet it doesnt find the driver.

Can anyone help resolve this? Thanks

That's unfortunate. Have you tried putting the iPhone in DFU mode yet?
