Urgent: How to restore an app from iCloud backup?

Hi guys,

I messed up and deleted some data from an app that I shouldn't have done.

How can I restore that particular app from yesterdays iCloud backup?

I don't think you can restore one app, you'll have to restore the entire phone.

That's right, you cannot restore individual apps but only your whole phone to the most recent backup.

To do that, you can either go through iTunes, or I believe you can also reset it from within the phone. Then once you see the setup page just choose to restore from iCloud.

To restore from iCloud, you'll need to "Erase all content and settings" on the phone first. You can find it under Settings>General>Reset. Once it comes back up, restore from your iCloud backup that has the correct app data.

A full one. There's never been an incremental restore on iOS devices.

This iCloud stuff is BS.

I did the erase, restored it from iCloud and now when it is time to download all the apps again I get an error from the iTunes Store:

"An item on your order isn't available in the country associated with your Apple ID."

It doesn't say which item it is and it doesn't download all the others!

Basically, I'm stuck!

My iTunes backup is way old so the only option I have is to get the backup that is on iCloud.

I've restored 2 or 3 times from iCloud and never had that error message. Seems like you had an app from a different store. It sucks that it doesn't tell you which one.

Yes. I was on the Swedish Store initially and then changed to the US Store.

The stupid thing is that it doesn't download the others and leaves the one that isn't available out...


Anyway, I connected it to iTunes after the restore from iCloud and I was able to transfer the apps to the iPhone.

Fortunately I got from iCould the data I mistakenly deleted.

Still, Apple should fix these small problems. I'm sure I wasn't the first one.

iCloud isn't BS, but your attitude sure sounds like BS.
It's obvious you have been downloading apps form your native store and US, I have also done this,,,,I have also restored from iCloud and it will ask you for both passwords for both countries stores....enter them and everything will restore completely the way it was when the last backup was made....I have performed this on my devices several times and on a friends iPhone, it works 100% of the time.....
Don't blame iCloud for your lack of knowledge or ability!

....if you plan to restore from a backup and you have a working PC/Mac, I would recommend using iTunes as it is quicker and saves broadband allowance (if you have that limitation) as all the apps/info/photos etc are stored in the iTunes device backup.

Two reasons enough?

When you restore from the Icloud does it actually re-install your apps from the Itunes Store vice actually storing the apps themselves. If yes, I guess that saves them storage space.

The iCloud backup is exactly the same as performing a restore in iTunes. You can't just restore an app and must perform a full restore.

Out Of Country Apps

Have you tried going back to the App Store for that country? That's what I usually go.
