Urgent iMac screen issue..

Hi there,

So I'm in the process of selling my iMac, and I was about to re-install 10.6.x and I saw these odd lines (2-3 of them, near the top of the screen. on my screen of my 21.5" iMac. It sort of fades/grows in its intensity, such as right now it may be sorta visible, later it may be very visible, and earlier it was hardly visible at all. What is going on here? It seems like it would be a video card issue or the display itself is failing. It looks the same after restarts, etc. The display has not been touched, cleaned with any odd substance, no pressure applied or anything; just came out of mid-air.

It could just be image persistence. Leave a solid while screen on for a few hours and see if that helps.

Will do, I'll leave it on it for awhile. This is really bugging me though, I'd hate for my iMac to be damaged when I'm about to sell it.

Anybody seen anything like this before?

How old is it? Apple Care? If so, it's easily covered.

Bought in January of 2010. AppleCare ran out like 3-4 weeks ago.
