Cingular is replacing my Moto v551 phone today and I have a choice between the V3 (not the V3c) or a SLVR L7 (the iTunes phone). Both will sync with iSync and work with my HandsFreeLink, but my question is...

Does either phone sync the entire address when using iSync to sync contacts? In other words, if I had the following contact in AddressBook.app on the Mac:

John Smith
123 Main St.
Anytown, AnyState USA
(123) 456-7890

My v551 only will sync "John Smith" and the phone number. I also want to sync the street address, city, state and zip code on the phone.

I need to let them know today so feedback would be appreciated. I am using Tiger.

Thanks.

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303418 may help, all i know is that my Nokia 6230i works perfectly with full-address syncing (it's also nicer than my old motorola V500, even though it looses the sim sometimes :( )

Thanks for the link Eraserhead. Unfortunately it doesn't indicate whether either Moto phone supports full-address syncing so if anyone knows I would appreciate a response. Otherwise I will probably go with the SLVR and "hope". A Windows friend has a SLVR and he has full address syncing with Outlook, but I am not sure if iSync will do the same.

This website appears to show full syncing occurs with the V3, why not ask Cingular? Here in the UK the phone shops seem (suprisingly) knowledgable about iSync, they seem to know which phones work with it, at least thats how it is in Oxford.

Hmmm. I too use iSync and run Tiger on my system and it appears that none of the addresses I have in AddressBook have made it to my phone. :(

Frankly while I like the phone over all, it's has two big negatives
  1. The lack of Bluetooth support (but that may change)
  2. The address book orgainization & sync quriks

Moto should come up with a 'name-based' look up, and get up to speed on the Mac iSync and BT support.

Hi Raid.

I ended up getting the SLVR and just synced. As you pointed out, the fields are there but are not populated by iSync. I agree the UI has the traditional Motorola issues but the price was right and it was a step up over my v551.

Does anyone know the e-mail address to send feature suggestions to Apple? It would be nice if iSync supported full-address sync on the "iTunes Phone".

I think the full-address issue is a Moto problem, the bluetooth seems to be the iSync problem... but that's just a guess.
