I recently had a USB power surge on my Windows 8 tablet Acer Iconia W700

And now my USB is no longer working. :/

I have tried unstailling the USB drivers but when it's finishing Unstailling all the USB drivers my Windows 8 tablet always becomes unresponsive and i had to turn off the tablet after by switching the hardware/physical on/off button.

I really really NEED the USB 3.0 working again as i can't transfer my video clips for Youtube or backup my stuff.

So can anyone help me please? I was thinking of factory resetting my tablet again but i can't do it because of the USB not working!! :/

This is the 1st time ever i had a USB power surge..

Reinstall USB drivers regardless. Then plug in a usb device such as memory stick and check in Windows System Profiler that it sees something. If it doesn't it's likely you have physically caused damage and the only solution will be physical repair. Software can not solve hardware failure unfortunately.

You're getting the USB surge/failure error, right? I've seen this happen only once before, and what you tried is what ultimately worked for me.

The only thing I can recommend is trying to do the same thing inside of safe mode. It's a bit more convoluted getting there with a computer using an EFI like setup, but what you do is hit the win key, search for run, execute it, type msconfig. When you see the System Configurator pop up, go to the Boot tab, check the Safe Boot box, and select the minimal radio tab. Rebooting the computer will take you into safe mode. Try and uninstall your drivers there, reboot, then reinstall your USB drivers once you're back in Windows proper, keeping your fingers crossed the whole while.

But i can't unistall the USB drivers completely with out my tablet becoming very very unresponsive and i had to turn off the tablet after by switching the hardware/physical on/off button.

So i can't reinstall USB drivers.

And i have tried searching USB drivers for my Windows 8 tablet Acer Iconia W700 and i can't find any...

99.9% of the time, Windows will reinstall your USB drivers for you when you reconnect to a network. Though you have to uninstall them first.

Hit start, and type System Information (or go to run, and type msinfo32). This is what MRU suggested above. Plug in a thumbdrive, run it, then go under Storage/Drives or Disks. See if it pops up in there. Also, do the same thing under Components/USB.
