US forum members - how much *exactly* will I pay for my iPad?

Okay folks, I'm heading to Florida from the UK in June, and I plan to buy an iPad 16GB (wifi only).

It is currently priced at $499.00 so what I need to know is exactly how much I will pay in total, including any sales taxes etc.

Can any of our US forum members help me shed some light on it?

Check the sales tax of the state/county you're going to, multiple that by the price to get tax, add to $499 and there you have it. Taxes vary by state, city and county in the states. A safe bet is to figure 7-8%

Florida has a base tax rate of 6%, and many localities have local taxes (by county, see link), so you'll have to be more specific about where you'll be buying it. Orlando is in Orange County, where the tax rate is 6.5% total, and the Dade County parts of Miami have a 7% rate. Whatever the total tax rate is in that county is the total amount you would be paying over the listed retail price, at the POS, in any event.

The sales tax rates are 6% to 7.5% depending on the county that you purchase it in.
