I bought a U.S 24" iMac 2.8ghz and want to use it in the UK.
I would like to know if I need a step down converter from the uk 240v to the US 120v.
Or can I use a any uk computer plug or even a simple us to uk adaptor. (auto volt switcher)
I searched the forum and many answers were very vague many referring to the old model not having voltage auto switcher and can fry the iMac.
The Apple iMac spec states
Electrical and operating requirements
* Line voltage: 100-240V AC
* Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz, single phase
* Maximum continuous power: 200W (20-inch models); 280W (24-inch model)
* Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
* Storage temperature: -40° to 185° F (-40° to 85° C)
* Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
* Maximum altitude: 10,000 feet
But this does not mention auto-switching, and may just indicate what power they carry.
So please help me out.
Thanks.
