I have just purchased a US IPhone, unfortunately running 1.1.2 and 4.02.13_G
modem firmware. (Week 46)

I know that there is currently no UNLOCK for this phone.
So far I have downgraded to 1.1.1, activated and jailbroken, then installed Oktoprep to then upgrade back to 1.1.2 and Conceited Jailbreak - all good.

It is now waiting for an Unlock when it is released....but was reading that UK Iphones do not need unlock if you have an existing 02 contract. I am on 02 already so is there anyway to get my 4.02.13_G US iphone working with an 02 sim? I am assuming that US and UK modem firmware is different enforcing the local Iphone carrier in that country?

i.e 4.02.13_G - US :Locked to any AT&T SIM?
4.02.13_G UK: Locked to any 02 SIM?

Does anyone know anymore or have a similar scenario?

I was hoping that it would accept my 02 SIM....but its not. :(

it will need to be unlocked

Uk iphones will work with any o2 sim once jailbroken and activated, same for US and AT&T
but you cant mix and match...
