USA 2G iPhone working in Germany?

I'm in Germany, and my pay as you go phone is breaking down. I have the chance to buy a 2G unlocked iphone for 125 dollhairs. If I just stick the PAYG SIM in the iphone can I use it? I will not need Data or Internet. Is this possible?

It depends what the band type that your network uses supports the iPhone. If you did buy an unlocked iPhone and the network supports the iPhone it should work fine.

I am on T-Mobile DE. I have no idea about the bands or anything, but I will be receiving the phone unlocked, and jailbroken.
