I am planning to buy my first mac, which will be a mac mini. Do you guys think Apple will release a new one with USB 3.0 end of this year? or any rumors on when USB 3 will be implemented at Apple.

They just released a new Mac Mini, no chance in hell of another new model before New Years

I have to say USB 2.0 is quite fast for me but of course an improvement over that with a 3.0 update will be good but that would mean we have to buy new and updated pen drives and hardware to take advantage of the increase in speed. Don't we?

No

I have no idea of when, but I am sure it won't be in 2009. I suspect apple is done updating its line for 2009. What 2010 brings is anyone's guess.

I agree, i don't think there will be any upgrades for the next five or six months.

USB3 is very rare at the moment. There are only few products supporting it so adding it now would be loss of money. I think Mac Pro will get that in 2010 along with Gulftown and SATA3.
