Hey all,

For my Late 2013 MBP I picked up an USB hub made by Nedis, but it doesn't work well. Copying off the EHD to the MBP is going fast, but vice versa it's very bothersome. Two 6TB G-drive units will make lots of disk search noise, but hardly copies any files. A G-Drive 10TB will copy, but not so fast. An External SSD shows half the write speed compared to the read speed.

This is my first USB3 (not USB-C!) hub. Is it common that quality varies between brands and models?

Most importantly: do you have a suggestion which brand(s) are good? Here in the netherlands we have Nedis, Anker, DeLock, Club3D, Sitecom.

Thanks!

Of those brands. Anker is the only one I recognize. They are also well regarded for product quality. I don't have their hub but do have a few of their products. I'd give them a try.
