MacBook Pro 2021 16" M1 Pro

Keep getting this when I try to use the Mac from sleep.

Its connected to am Asus Prorate 279CV 4k monitor and is powered and connected to the Mac via the USB C cable that came with the monitor. I have tried other cables and makes no difference. Only other thing plugged into the Mac is a Samsung T5 external ssd and even though this message pope up , its still mounted and working fine. Tried moving that to a different port and moving the monitor cable to a different port and still the same.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue with ProArt 279CV, but with this displayed, all my USB devices (2 Samsung T7’s) still work. Have tried several configurations, going thru a dock or hooked up directly, no change.

You saying the monitor is powered by the same USB, or is there a separate power supply for it?

STOP RIGHT THERE.
This isn't right.

I doubt you can "power" a big display like that from USB bus power.
Don't you have the display plugged into a wall outlet?

See above. The monitor is powered by the plug that come with it. The MacBook in clamshell mode is connected to the monitor by the usb c cable that came with the monitor.

After troubleshooting, I was able to eliminate this warning message by going to the OSD, selecting USB setup and changing from USB 2.0 to USB 3.1.

Did you have to reset the Mac/unplug from the monitor and retry or did it just work? Just changed mine and hasn't made a difference.

Can’t quite understand this. If I leave the HDMI cable connected to my MacBook pro, I do not get the warning about USB Accessories disabled, and the monitor confirms I am using USB-C connection. However, if I disconnect the HDMI cable, I immediately get the warning. No matter what configuration I use that says USB Disabled, USB is actually working and not disabled.

This notification was driving me mad too, though it never impacted on any USB connected device.

I'm running the Asus PA329CV as the thunderbolt power source for my M1 MacBook Pro, and as external monitor.

Finally solved it for me by going into the Asus menu > Settings > Power Level > Normal. Also set USB to 3.1.
